Intersectionality

Definition: A concept that suggests oppressive systems (racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, etc) are interconnected and non-examinable under separate lenses and should be studied together because these oppressive systems often shape and influence one another. For example, the theory suggests that you cannot describe the experience of a latina woman without also knowing her sexual orientation, class, and so on, as well as how her society perceives those systems.
